Screw International Diplomacy – Trump Team Planned Taiwan Call For Months (VIDEO)

President-elect Donald Trump broke nearly 40 years of protocol with a call to Taiwan last week, and his team immediately went into spin mode. Kellyanne Conway, Trump’s former campaign manager and current senior adviser, said people need to “calm down,” but such an unprecedented move has definitely stirred the international diplomacy pot. And, despite Trump and his team making claims to the contrary, it appears that the whole thing was planned for months.

Not Just A ‘Congratulatory’ Call

Trump himself took to Twitter (because that’s his modus operandi, after all) after the shit hit the fan over his call to Taiwan. Like his team, he was playing defense. And, in typical Trump fashion, he came off like a petulant teenager.

Of course, the whole thing is a smokescreen for the fact that the call was planned months in advance.

The Washington Post reported:

“Donald Trump’s protocol-breaking telephone call with Taiwan’s leader was an intentionally provocative move that establishes the incoming president as a break with the past, according to interviews with people involved in the planning.

The historic communication — the first between leaders of the United States and Taiwan since 1979 — was the product of months of quiet preparations and deliberations among Trump’s advisers about a new strategy for engagement with Taiwan that began even before he became the Republican presidential nominee, according to people involved in or briefed on the talks.”

So, in short, Trump and his team are lying through their teeth to the American public. Again.

And the whole fiasco further illustrates the fact that Trump is completely ignorant of how foreign policy works.
