Twitter Eats Gingrich Alive For Praising Japanese ‘Brilliance’ On Pearl Harbor Day (TWEETS)

Yesterday was Pearl Harbor Day — the anniversary of the day Japan attacked the Pearl Harbor military base in Hawaii and the impetus for the United States’ entrance into World War II. 2,403 Americans were killed. More than 1,100 were wounded. And former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich decided the best way to honor the 75th anniversary of the attack was to praise the attackers.

WTF, Newt???

Gingrich sent out this completely tone-deaf tweet:

Yes. He actually tweeted that. On Pearl Harbor Day.

There are some who are saying that the tweet should be read alongside an earlier tweet, in which Gingrich warned of how “dangerous” the world is. Of course, that’s just typical Republican fear-mongering. And it doesn’t change the fact that THIS tweet is simply not what should be said on Pearl Harbor Day, of all days.

Some of the responses were funny, though it’s not a laughing matter. User @chelllssseeea tweeted a series of pictures to Gingrich, all in the same “wtf?” vein.

However, many of the other responses he got were swift, terrible, and right on point.

And Some Pulled Exactly Zero Punches
