Heartless Texas Republicans HATE Handicapped Children (VIDEO)

As of last Thursday, Texas Republicans are making good on their promise to cut funding for services that benefit disabled children.

According to NBCDFW, $350 million in cuts to a Texas Medicaid program providing therapy for disabled children have taken effect.

In a piece last month, the Dallas Morning News chronicled the lengthy saga that pit greedy Texas lawmakers against children who already have the deck stacked against them.

It said:

“Last year, the Legislature approved $350 million in federal and state Medicaid cuts, mostly toward therapy providers for disabled children. Opponents argued that the cuts would disrupt care — including speech, physical and occupational therapies — for tens of thousands of kids especially in rural areas. But many who supported the cuts argued that therapists got reimbursed at higher rates than necessary to provide services.”

The piece also cited Stephanie Rubin, chief executive of the advocacy group Texans Care for Children, who said:

“Our most vulnerable children and their struggling families should not bear the brunt of this shortsighted and cruel budget decision. Texans are watching to see what state leaders do to protect services for these kids.”

And now we know. Once again right wing hypocrisy is exposed.

They clamor to restrict planning for pregnancies, yet once a child is here – even a disabled child struggling to achieve a sense of normalcy – they throw these children to the wolves.

Sometimes you just have to call a spade a spade. These Texas Republicans are heartless monsters.

Here is a video of these self-congratulatory Republicans celebrating their cuts:
