One of the latest in the current rash of racist events after the election of Donald Trump involves a woman arrested for allegedly pointing a gun at people inside of a McDonald’s in Florida.
One of the witnesses, Charles Daniels, noted that he was eating lunch at a McDonald’s when 55-year-old Mary Ulman began honking her horn and yelling racial epithets at him – a peaceful man enjoying some food in a restaurant.
He ignored the suspect, until he noticed a gun’s laser dot on his shoulder. She also managed to point the weapon at McDonald’s employees.
After menacing Daniels and the employees, Ulman started to point her gun through the drive-through window. The authorities were called, finding Ulman at a traffic light. Authorities searched her vehicle, finding the gun she used inside.
She was driven back to the McDonald’s and identified by the witnesses. Ulman was charged with intent to commit a felony.
An Increase Of Hate Crime Against Ethnic And Religious Minorities
There has been an increase in hate crimes during the election, with many being directly influenced by President-elect Donald Trump. The FBI released a report that shows that there was an overall increase in hate crimes against all groups, with it largely fueled by attacks against Muslims.
Attacks against transgender individuals also increased, with Black Americans being the most victims of race-based attacks, and Jewish folk being targeted with antisemitism.
