If you were a Washington lobbyist, way back in February of this current year, you would have hung your head in shame. Corey Lewandowski, who at the time was Donald Trump’s campaign manager, told Breitbart News that lobbyist were the scum of the earth.
Ok, maybe he didn’t use those exact words, but he did say this:
“This is the fundamental problem with the ruling class in Washington, DC – the party bosses, the K Street crowd, the lobbyists who control all these politicians. They will do anything to maintain their power. They will do anything. They will say anything.”
Yes, Mr. Lewandowski, who had yet to be fired from his top spot in the Trump campaign, railed against those corrupt, power hungry lobbyist who would do anything or say anything to gain control over politicians.
In the same interview, Ol’ Corey promised that once Donald J. Trump took up residence in the White House, those lobbyists would be out on their collective fannies. He told the good folks at Breitbart that there were corporate interests working to prevent the nomination of Mr. Trump, “because they know that if Donald Trump becomes the nominee and ultimately the president of the United States, the days of backroom deals are over.”
Well, hardee har har.
I guess the laugh is on all those right wing Breitbart folks who really believed that line.
Because it’s for damn sure that Corey Lewandowski never believed it.

Well, gee. What happened to draining that swamp? What happened to vilifying all those K Street lobbyists?

I guess that was before Corey Lewandowski realized that his best chance to cash in on the latest political events is to become a lobbyist/consultant who can brag about his close relationship to the President.
Make some room in that swamp, folks. Corey’s going to need a place to scrabble through the muck.
