Gingrich May Have Wet His Pants With This ‘Big Boo-Boo’ (VIDEO)

Everyone with half a brain knows that President-elect Donald Trump is not going to “drain the swamp.” Sure, he said it, he campaigned on it, and millions of people voted for him on the basis of clearing out Washington and starting over with non-political types who have no idea what they’re doing. Because, reasons. And Obama. Newt Gingrich recently found out the hard way, though, that calling Trump on his lies can have dire consequences.

Like being forced to make the most inane Twitter video ever.

‘I Made A Big Boo-Boo’

The only time it’s acceptable for a grown adult to say “I made a big boo-boo” is if they’re speaking to a child. And yet, that is exactly what Gingrich said on a video he posted on Twitter.

You see, Gingrich crossed Trump.

On December 21, Gingrich was on NPR’s Morning Edition and, when asked about the “drain the swamp” pledge, Gingrich said:

“I’m told he now just disclaims that. He now says it was cute, but he doesn’t want to use it anymore … I’d written what I thought was a very cute tweet about ‘the alligators are complaining,’ and somebody wrote back and said they were tired of hearing this stuff.”

Just one day later, Gingrich posted a video on Twitter, aptly characterized by Huffington Post as having the appearance of a “hostage video,” in which he walked back his statement along with another tweet which, I’m sure, Gingrich felt was just as “cute” as his first:

Somehow, I don’t think it’s the alligators who are worried at all.

I think it’s the newts.
