Obstruction From Liberals is America’s Only Hope Under President Trump (VIDEO)

An article published by The Hill suggests that Democrats will obstruct during a Donald Trump presidency. It acknowledges that this is similar to what Republicans did for eight years under President Obama.

Take note that The Hill is a conservative news site. Compared to other services, it appears to hold back its bias. In this context, the article is one-sided to suggest Democrats should not obstruct. But the article is also neutral enough to say, “it didn’t really work for the GOP.”

This would certainly be true if they had lost the White House. But no one believes at this point that a more extremist GOP was the wrong direction for them to take.

For almost two years of Donald Trump’s campaign, Americans were forced to acknowledge the dark side of the political spectrum. Aside from consistent reports of Republican obstruction over the last eight years, Trump was not a reality even then. Those who are more toward the middle-of-the-road and left-of-middle saw this country going in the direction of Hillary Clinton.

Unlike Republicans, Democrats Have Legitimate Reasons To Obstruct

This was not a view that was suddenly created for this campaign as values exist that embrace common sense. Trump supporters have had and still have a fringe view of what America should be. It is also a fringe group of Americans who held the line to elect him and those with lax values who decided to fall in line, summing up the total of active Republicans who are fine with Trump’s America.

In a recent CNN town hall-style interview with Michael Moore on Van Jones’ The Messy Truth, he was asked about the political climate. A sophomore student in the audience said that they were raised in an era which was characterized by political gridlock. She wanted to know what the next move would be for Congressional Democrats if they were going to be as oppositional as the GOP was.

Michael Moore said that he hoped so.

This is not Kumbaya moment, here. They… the Democrats in Congress, they represent the majority, the majority of Americans — I’ll say it again, wanted Hillary Clinton. The majority of Americans did not want Donald Trump. It is the responsibility of this minority of Democrats in Congress to block, obstruct, disrupt and do whatever they can to prevent the onslaught that is going to happen with Donald Trump, who the American people do not support.”

Van Jones’ response to this was:

“When the Republicans did this, they blocked our president on everything. And you know who suffered? Those workers suffered, the kids in Oakland suffered, the whole country suffered. Are you saying that now Democrats should have a policy of imposing that same suffering for four more years, you’re saying we shouldn’t even try to find any way out?”

Van Jones represents those who have not been paying attention to the rise of extremism. To them, the view is that they should be given a chance. The reason for this is because they cannot see the difference. But many people like Michael Moore can. A Trump presidency promises to bring a more totalitarian administration to the White House. This is the threat that Republicans can embrace because it’s what will destroy the Obama legacy.  The obstruction under a two-term President Obama, was the first phase to delegitimize him. The election of a fascistic Donald Trump is the death blow. The Obama presidency does not deserve this and Trump’s policies must be fought tooth and nail.

It’s hard to say now if there will be any support for the American Liberal perspective. Soon after the election, Trump’s former campaign manager Kellyanne Conway set the standard for how liberals will be neglected during their rule. With every passing day and week, there’s no reason to not take them seriously. As to the destruction of this country through obstruction, this guarantee was obvious on election night. There is no obstruction that could come from Democrats what will make it any worse. Not doing so would guarantee the end of American democracy and values. Liberals are the only ones who will defend those.
