Cenk Uygur From The Young Turks Launching Justice Democrats (VIDEO)

In a bold move Cenk Uygur of YouTube regulars The Young Turks has announced he is forming a new political organization.

He is calling it the ‘Justice Democrats’ and explains he wants to take money out of politics. In an interview with Jimmy Dore he says:

“If you have strong progressives you can win easily and overwhelmingly in the country…look at the polling.”

The aims of the party sound extremely forward thinking. With regards to energy Uygur says America is going to be:

“number one in sustainable energy… America leads the world.”

Uygur says as well as environment, health is a priority for the party:

“we are going to go for universal healthcare – single payer.”

Uygur goes on to say it is unacceptable that America is number 37 in the world healthcare rankings. Again he asserts:

“We are going to be number one.”

There are some non-negotiables with his new party:

“You cannot take donor or corporate money”

He won’t take big money from corporations because he says that ‘corrupts‘ and he wants a party that is for the people by the people.

They are therefore asking for donations from the public. People can sign up on www.justicedemocrats.com and they already have over 60k members as of the video.

Uygur says he is open to working with some other progressive groups and admits there are some parts of the Democratic party in Washington who have been there too long and who they are willing to leave behind.

During the election The Young Turks were very supportive of Bernie Sanders and highly critical of President Donald Trump.

Jimmy Dore is an outspoken political comedian who is vocal particularly about corporate influence over politicians on both sides of politics. He is anti-war, wants higher wages, lower priced medicines and universal healthcare.

Dore would very much welcome the idea of a new party clear of donor money.

The success of the party will of course all depend on whether enough people get behind them.
