BREAKING: GOP Released ACA Replacement – And It’s As Bad As We Predicted (VIDEO)

The Republican version of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), AKA Obamacare, has been made public. It’s as bad as we knew it would be. The bill, named the American Health Care Act (AHCA), outlines the systematic dismantling of access to healthcare for millions of Americans.

This “healthcare plan” would eliminate the mandate. It would also allow children to remain on their parents’ plans as did the ACA. This is really where the similarities stop. The remainder of the bill will most definitely hurt the poor and will face opposition from both sides of the isle.

The Washington Post reported:

“Sens. Rob Portman (R-Ohio), Shelley Moore Capito (R. W.Va.), Cory Gardner (R-Colo.) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) said they would vote against any reform bill that fails to protect Americans who became eligible for coverage under the ACA’s expansion of Medicaid, the government-run health program for the poor and disabled.”

The battle over the healthcare system is likely to take place since a large part of the GOP plan is to eliminate the Medicaid expansion section of the ACA. As CNBC reported:

“The bill also would repeal the authority of states to expand their Medicaid programs to nearly all adults by 2020, and also would cap the amount of federal funding a state will receive per-person for its Medicaid program.”

The GOP healthcare bill gives tax breaks that would do nothing to benefit the poor. It would take funding from Planned Parenthood. The plan claims to still protect pre-existing conditions but there are loopholes that will no doubt be exploited by insurance companies. The new bill does not propose penalties for drug companies that continue their predatory practices.

When you put all of the above together with the attack on the Medicaid expansion, this plan is sure to create a health crisis in America. Low income women will be hurt even more since they would cut funding to Planned Parenthood. The Republican’s continued assault on women and the poor is despicable.
