CA Rep Set Up Website Tracking Russian Connections Of Trump’s Team (TWEETS)

President Donald Trump wants America to believe that all this “Russia talk” is “fake news,” but California Representative Eric Swalwell doesn’t buy it. He has set up a webpage that tracks the connections between President Donald Trump’s team and Russian government officials and business interests.

In our 2016 elections, Russia attacked our democracy. It was silent and nearly invisible, but nevertheless it struck the core of our democracy – our free and fair elections.

Swalwell claims that Trump surrounds himself with people who do business with and are sympathetic to Russia. The chart on the webpage certainly supports this claim:

Here’s a quick rundown of each person named on the chart.

    • Alex Shnaider has interests in steel trading, real estate, retail, and manufacturing in Russia, Ukraine and Siberia.
    • Vladimir Putin awarded Rex Tillerson the Order of Friendship, one of the highest honors Russia gives to foreign citizens.
    • Tevfik Arif worked to introduce Trump to investors from Russia.
    • Carter Page is among the Trump associates whose potential contacts with Russia are being investigated by the FBI.
    • Felix Sater is a business associate who helped Mr. Trump scout deals in Russia.
    • Paul Manafort had repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials in the year before the election.
    • Attorney General Jeff Sessions initially denied any contact with the Russians, then later admitted to two meetings.
    • Lt. General Michael Flynn (Ret) discussed U.S. sanctions against Russia with that country’s ambassador to the United States during the month before President Trump took office.
    • Jared Kushner met with Russia’s ambassador to the U.S. in December.
    • Roger Stone communicated with Russian hacker Guccifer 2.0 during the campaign.
    • Donald Trump Jr. allegedly received $50,000 by Kremlin-connected foreign policy group.
    • Sergey Kislyak is the Russian ambassador to the U.S.

Why Is Trump And His Team So Close To Russia?

Whether due to poor judgment or due to personal and political links between Trump and Putin, Swalwell is not sure. What he is sure of is that these connections should be “concerning to American citizens everywhere.”
