Trump Lawyer In A ‘Republican Rock Band’ – And They Are AWFUL (VIDEOS)

We introduced you yesterday to the new addition to President Donald Trump’s legal team including Jay Sekulow, the man who has been drawing such negative attention to himself that lawyers around the world are cringing. But the defender of conservative and Evangelical causes also has a noteworthy hobby: Republican rock star!

That’s right, Sekulow plays both drums and guitar in a “Republican rock band” along with Christian rock singers John Schlitt and John Elefante. Elefante’s claim to fame is that he filled in as the lead singer of Kansas for a short period. Fancy.

The group mostly plays covers of famous old rock classics by bands like Boston and the Eagles. One of their favorites appears to be a cover of the Beatles’ “Taxman” with an obvious direction towards a conservative audience. But they don’t just play covers, oh no.

They have original material aiming their talents towards political messages. Here’s a line from Sekulow’s self-penned masterpiece “Undemocratic”:

“Democracy in motion means a right to take sides / Since when is one rewarded for the emails she hides?”

Hmm, I wonder what that is a reference to? Note the many shots of the IRS building in the video:

I really can’t blame Sekulow and his conservative musician friends for trying to come up with some fresh material for the Republican faithful. After all, most popular (and good) musicians tend to support left-leaning causes, with many of them outright refusing to allow Republicans to use their songs at rallies and other political events.

That pretty much leaves crazy Ted Nugent, and there’s only so many times one can listen to “Cat Scratch Fever” before they get sick of it.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go listen to something else to clean this out of my ears.

If you haven’t had enough of the Sekulow Band, here’s another called “Through the Years,” which seems to a popular choice amongst the Christian rock crowd (after the jump):
