WATCH Anderson Cooper Put A Trump Aide on FULL BLAST For Insulting CNN

When members of the Trump administration don’t like the questions they’re being asked by a member of the press, they resort to a tactic their boss is fond of: Hurling insults and crying about “fake news.”

Wednesday evening on CNN, host Anderson Cooper had quite enough of the “blame the media” game and lit into Trump official Sebastian Gorka.

Cooper began by saying that while President Trump is fond of using the phrase “witch hunt” when it comes to the Russia investigation, there are plenty of facts to support a robust investigation. When he brought Gorka into the debate, the Trump aide began by announcing:

“Your chyron talked about a crisis. Your reporter talked about a bunker mentality. I work in the West Wing, I work in the White House—it is absolutely nothing of the kind. We are pushing the ‘make America great again’ agenda. The president is a steam locomotive that will not be stopped. It’s just fake news.”

Rather than take the bait, Cooper told Gorka:

“Okay. I’m just going to ignore the insults, because I don’t think it gets us anywhere.”

Next, the CNN host asked Gorka:

“So the president tweeted today, ‘When you hear the words, “sources say” from the fake media, often times those sources are made up and do not exist.’ I’m wondering how the president can make that claim when all the reporting by the New York Times have been proven by his son’s own emails.”

Gorka again tried to deflect, saying that Russia is an “obsession” with the media.

Cooper reminded Gorka that Donald Trump Jr.’s story on his meeting with a Russian lawyer has repeatedly changed. But Gorka insisted Donald Jr. had been consistent, whining:

“I thought we were going to talk about real issues, like what we’re doing with our allies in France.”

The normally calm CNN host shot back:

“Are you a TV producer now?”

In a condescending tone of voice, Gorka remarked:

“You’re falling for the fake news trap. It’s sad, Anderson.”

With perfect timing, Cooper retorted:

“You’re shaking shiny objects trying to divert people!”

The lies are starting to catch up with the Trump administration. And as they try desperately to tread water, they can tell that the biggest, most dangerous waves lie ahead.

Here’s the exchange between Cooper and Gorka:
