Conservatives Playing The Blame Game Over Trumpcare Failure (VIDEO)

After the latest collapse of the Republican effort to repeal and replace Obamacare, the conservative media is starting to get mighty frustrated. This week the Senate Republicans failed to get enough votes to pass the much-maligned healthcare plan known as Trumpcare version 2.0, with members of the GOP across the philosophical spectrum expressing doubts of its efficacy. And the conservative media are falling over themselves trying to find the right person to blame.

One of the more popular choices is Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. The Federalist’s Ben Domenech vented his anger at what he perceives as a failure of leadership:

“He spent years discouraging Republicans from advancing replacement plans with the stated reason being that he alone would be in a position to forge a deal that allowed such plans to come to fruition. He maintained an image of confidence that when the time came, he would be able to balance the needs of insurers and providers, conservatives and moderates, reformers and those who favored the status quo in such a way as to achieve repeal and replacement. While the House of Representatives let a dozen plans bloom with co-sponsorships and internal debate, McConnell squelched any possibility of pre-gaming consensus on the Senate side. It was a gamble, a bet on his own ability as leader, and he lost.”

Many conservative journalists agree that the bill itself was a spectacular failure, with little hope of attracting either the votes needed or popular support. While blaming certain GOP factions or Senate GOP leaders is an easy choice, other journalists went for even lower hanging fruit: President Snowflake himself. Some took to Twitter (President Trump’s favorite medium) to mock his claim that he wouldn’t “own” Obamacare’s failure when he spent so much time and effort on the campaign trail saying he would be America’s healthcare savior:

The entertainment never ends with this administration, I swear. And for all those Trump acolytes, both media and civilian, who were so sure that he was going to be the President who got things done, what do you have to say now?

They’re running out of people to blame. All they have left is themselves.
