Caitlyn Jenner was in the news again last week when she reacted to President Donald Trump’s announcement to ban the transgender community from serving in the military. Jenner sent out some tweets and angry statements about the discriminatory move.
However in a peculiar move last Thursday, she was photographed driving in an open top convertible wearing a bright red Make America Great Again hat.
The timing of the hat wearing is strange, but even more odd was her explanation. Jenner claims she realized she needed a hat and rifled through a pile of them, grabbed the MAGA cap and went, without reading the stitching.
According to TMZ, Jenner now detests the president because of his latest move (trans ban) she stated:
“What he’s doing to our community is absolutely f***ing awful.”
TMZ reports that Jenner claims the whole hat episode was a comedy of errors. She claims she grabbed the hat before golf so that she would not mess up her hair. She did not realize it was a Trump campaign hat until she had finished having a hit. Jenner then left her purse in Starbucks, which left her in a panic and she forgot she was still wearing the hat.
The former athlete and reality star was then photographed between Starbucks and her home wearing the hat (to keep her hair in place).
Jenner is filled with regret over the incident making this apology:
“I apologize to all of the trans community. I made a mistake. I will never do it again and I’m getting rid of the hat.”
The whole story is a bit suspicious, even if all she says is true and she mistakenly grabbed the bright red hat, why did she own it in the first place?
Jenner’s politics have already surprised many people. She is openly Republican and yet is constantly outraged and surprised when they then legislate against her community.
She is aware of the backlash her political views cause within her circle and often jokes that it was harder for her to come out as a Republican than it was to come out as trans.
Knowing all this, Jenner still ‘accidentally’ wore that MAGA hat just days after the controversial trans ban. Go figure.
