WATCH: Former FBI Agent On Russia Investigation: ‘Stay Tuned. There’s More Coming’

Former FBI agent Asha Rangappa, also the Associate Dean of Yale Law School and National Security Analyst for CNN, recently appeared on the news network to offer her take on the ongoing Russia investigation that has the White House under siege. Rangappa made it clear that she believes Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s noose is tightening, and President Donald Trump’s White House is in serious trouble.

Rangappa had this to say about Mueller’s newest requests of the White House:

They’ve probably honed in on a crime or set of crimes that they want to get more information on, and they’re probably looking for any kind of communications about possible exchanges concerning payments, agreements between individuals, or possibly just evidence of knowledge that certain kinds of connections were taking place.”

Mueller recently assembled a grand jury for the case and began issuing subpoenas. Although this sounds damning for Trump’s team, Rangappa stresses that there is still a long way to go:

This is going to be one stage of many. As I explained to some people: if this were a TV drama – a season long TV drama – this might be episode four. So, stay tuned, there’s more coming. But this is definitely an expansion.”

This grand jury is an expansion because it is an entirely different one from the grand jury that was brought together to investigate former head of national security Michael Flynn. Rangappa closes her segment by suggesting that Trump himself may eventually be called to testify, but that is probably quite a way off. She argues that Mueller would want something a bit more “airtight” before subpoenaing the President, but mentions that Special Counsel Ken Starr called in former President Bill Clinton to testify before his perjury case had completed.
