Rap Star Wants To Raise $200K To Prove The Earth Is Flat

The rapper B.o.B has set up a GoFundMe page to try and prove that the Earth is flat. No, I’m not kidding.

Last week, he launched the GoFundMe page with a goal of raising $200,000 for research into proving that the Earth is flat. The rapper wants to purchase and launch satellites to help prove whether or not we live on a disk or a globe.

In January of 2016, he went on a long Twitter rant on the subject. He said:

“have u been to the edge ? or is that what your science book told you”

“You can regurgitate force fed information all day . . . still doesn’t change physics.”

“A lot of people are turned off by the phrase ‘flat earth’ . . .  but there’s no way u can see all the evidence and not know . . . grow up.”

The tweets got the attention of astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson, who tweeted:

His GoFundMe page has raised a whopping $220 so far.

The flat Earth theory is just one of many fringe beliefs rapper B.o.B. holds. He is also a Holocaust denier and a Hitler apologist. His lyrics have advanced the right-wing theory that Jews control most of the government. He has also referenced the Illuminati in some of his lyrics.

After his Twitter rant in 2016, the Anti-Defamation League released a statement asking him to apologize for his anti-Semitic and Holocaust-denying lyrics. The statement read in part:

“While it is unclear whether these lyrics are meant to be taken seriously, it is nonetheless troubling that B.o.B seems to have given new life to the anti-Semitic conspiracy theory of Jewish control of the U.S. government while handing a free publicity gift to the notorious Holocaust denier, David Irving.  His lyrics are irresponsible and could potentially promote anti-Semitic beliefs, especially in those people who might already be infected by such notions.”

“It appears as if this song has been recently removed from the Internet.  If so, that is a positive first step to acknowledging a mistake here, but it is not nearly enough.  We hope that B.o.B will find a way to communicate clearly to his fans that Holocaust denial is unacceptable and that he will apologize for invoking the age-old conspiracy theory about Jewish control of the government.”

This guy just needs to drop off the Earth, whatever shape he thinks it is.
