Far-Left Blogger Thinks You May Be A ‘Hack’ If You Call Out Trump’s Idiocy (TWEETS)

What if I told you that there was a blogger out there who claimed if you call out Russia’s effort to hack our election, as well as the almost daily outrages from Donald Trump’s White House, you may be serving the interests of the establishment? Most of you would automatically assume that I was talking about just another pro-Trump tailender. Now, what if I told you that this blogger wasn’t far right, but far left?

Earlier this week, one of my readers suggested that I take a few cues from Caitlin Johnstone, an independent blogger and Bernie-or-Buster from Australia who bills herself as a “rogue journalist.” Johnstone recently published what she bills as a primer on how to attack Trump without sounding like a “neoliberalism-friendly establishment hack.” But she says a lot about her credibility by suggesting that you may be “advancing an establishment agenda” by using two of the main talking points against Trump.

“The Russia stuff exists to pressure Trump into complying with the neoconservative agenda of using US military and economic might to keep nations which don’t recognize America’s planetary authority from getting a leg up, the fretting over his attacks on the corporate media exist to get you defending the establishment propaganda machine as your beloved Big Brother, and the obsession over his general obnoxiousness exists for no other reason than to herd everyone who isn’t a loyal Republican into impotent alignment with the Democratic party.”

I had to read this twice to believe what I was seeing. To hear Johnstone talk, if you’re trying to shine a hot light on the Russian hacking, or criticizing Trump for his latest outrage, you may be “advancing an establishment agenda.”

Let’s say it all together as a group, folks. When we talk about Russia, we’re seeking answers for how a foreign government interfered in our election. We also want to find out if a major-party presidential campaign potentially colluded with said foreign government. That’s not hackery. That’s defending the integrity of our democracy.

Raising a stink over Trump’s attacks on the media is not an attempt to defend “Big Brother.” It’s expressing justifiable concerns about a president who has openly declared that the media is the enemy of the American people and believes that even mildly critical coverage is “fake news.” So defending the First Amendment makes you a “neoliberalism-friendly establishment hack” now?

And calling out Trump’s obnoxiousness serves two purposes. For one, it drives home the evidence that this man is the most manifestly unfit person to occupy the White House in recent memory. Riddle me this, Caitlin. If we say that a man who retweets a GIF of him violently attacking a woman lacks the impulse control to have access to nuclear codes, how does that make you a hack? Gee, I didn’t know that insisting that our leaders uphold basic standards is an act of hackery. Moreover, if most Republicans continue to bow down to Trump in the face of such evidence, shouldn’t we rightly question whether they are fit to govern?

Then again, a closer look into Johnstone’s background makes such denseness easier to understand. Johnstone calls herself a “rogue journalist,” but she is really a peddler of conspiracy theories. For instance, she was one of a number of far-left bloggers who pushed the Seth Rich conspiracy theory. She’s also a full-blown 9-11 truther and thinks it was okay to talk about Pizzagate.

In other words, this woman seems to be so far left she’s right. Indeed, Yoav Litvin of MintPressNews discovered that some of her biggest fans are Trump diehards. For instance, Cassandra Fairbanks, a fellow Bernie-or-Buster who has morphed into a full-blown Trump loyalist.

Alt-right luminary Mike Cernovich also loves him some Johnstone.

As it turns out, Johnstone isn’t just a bad journalist, but a horrible human being. Back in July, she openly hoped that John McCain would die.

So there you have it. A woman who thinks we’re establishment hacks if we argue two major talking points against Trump is herself a full-blown hack without a shred of credibility or decency. Go away, Caitlin. You’re only making it harder for those of us who really want to ensure there’s a country to save.
