POTUS Hurls Schoolyard Insults At Kim Jong-Un… Again (TWEET)

Not even a lovely trip abroad can stop President Donald Trump from trying to bully his enemies over Twitter. Trump again demeaned the office of the President by taking to Twitter to, once again, attack the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un.

Trump is currently on a two week trip of Asia – a trip that he promised would prioritize trying to crack the issue of North Korea. Things did not quite go as planned.

As he often does, Trump decided to handle a delicate situation with all the nuance of an angry toddler. Instead of stepping back and allowing the adults in the room handle things, Trump attacked Kim with this tweet:

It reads:

Why would Kim Jong-un insult me by calling me ‘old,’ when I would NEVER call him ‘short and fat?’ Oh well, I try so hard to be his friend – and maybe someday that will happen!”

In related news, Trump apparently has access to 280 characters on his tweets now. Who knows what diplomatic firestorms he can start with double the tweeting power?

These two love passive-aggressive, juvenile insults, especially directed at one another. It would be funnier if they were not both in charge of nuclear arsenals big enough to wipe life off of the planet.

Earlier this year, Trump spoke to the United Nations General Assembly and coined the pejorative nickname “Rocket Man” for Kim. He also told the General Assembly that the North Korean leader was on a “suicide mission.”

Neither Trump nor Kim have been particularly mature about their stand off. They routinely insult, threaten, and make shows of power to attempt to intimidate the other. Hopefully it is only a game to them. Otherwise, the ramifications could be disastrous. Watch Trump’s comments to the United Nations below:
