Now that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is almost knocking on the door of the Oval Office, Donald Trump, his surrogates, and his family are busy trying to discredit a legitimate investigation into whether or not members of the Trump campaign conspired with Russia during the 2016 election.
The latest entry into this crowded field of human smokescreens is Donald Trump Jr. (aka “Fredo”), who decided he’d spin a web of lies mixed with bullshit and conspiracy theory, telling conservative student activists Tuesday evening:
“Imagine what would happen if we rolled back the clock to 2008 and a conservative director of the FBI and high-up people in the FBI that were leading all of these investigations wrote an e-mail about an insurance policy, the dossier, in the unlikely event that Barack Obama was elected president? What do you think would happen?
“Do you think the media would cover that? Yeah. Do you think it would be brushed under the rug, like, ‘Oh, it’s nothing, it doesn’t mean anything?’ There would be revolution in the streets.”
How about if Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton had made dozens of contacts with Russian operatives in an attempt to gain Russian support in a presidential election. Do you think Fox News would be calling for blood and demanding the guilty party be locked up? Would they urge their Second Amendment fans to take up arms and solve the problem?
Finally, Fredo Trump, who is so weak and stupid, just like the character in The Godfather, told the students:
You know, my father talked about a rigged system throughout the campaign, and people are like, ‘Oh, what are you talking about?’ But it is. And you’re seeing it. There is and there are people at the highest levels of government that don’t want to let America be America.”
Rigged system? How about a rigged election, Junior?
The good news is there’s probably an indictment with Don Jr’s name on it, which explains why he’s so desperate to point the finger at the people who are going to lock him up.
