When Boston Magazine staff were trying to come up with a truly epic way to show tribute to those lost and the indomitable spirit of marathon runners, they came up with “The Shoes We Wore.” The cover has the shoes arranged in the shape of a heart and individual shoes pictured on the inside of the magazine with a story about each runner whose shoe is featured.
