This young man with his sparkling eyes and thin beard grew up with ten other siblings?in a devout Catholic family. His father was a medical doctor and dean at Yale, his mother was a homemaker. This family soon had its foundations shattered, however, when he lost his father and two siblings in a plane crash.
The family moved, and the now pre-adolescent boy soon found life was much more difficult. He didn’t make friends easily, so he turned to reading science fiction books, and playing Dungeons and Dragons with the few friends he did make. It was during this period that he developed an ability for improvisation. This lead him to study theater in college. He preferred drama over comedy, and looked toward a career as a dramatic actor.
