Pamela Anderson Runs NYC Marathon, Raises $76K For Charity

Pamela Anderson came out in support, raising nearly $76,000 for the J/P Haitian Relief Organization, running the New York Marathon. Five hours and forty minutes, and twenty six miles later, Anderson crossed the finish line with her brother Gerry in tow.

The former ?Baywatch? star actually considered running in her signature red bathing suit, which she commented on to ESPN, saying:

For a second I did entertain the thought. I had friends ask me to [wear it]. They think it would be really funny. The bad thing was, I did think twice about it!

After training as hard as she did for this race, the bathing suit would have probably raised even more money. Marathon training can be grueling but Anderson loved it and confessed she doesn’t know why she hasn’t always worked out like that. Anderson even talked about her Baywatch non-workout regime saying:

I never worked out in the ‘Baywatch’ days. Now it feels so good, I’m like, ‘Why wasn’t I doing this for the last 20 years of my life?’ But everything happens for a reason and I’m actually glad that, at this time and this age, I’m exercising. I’m not sure what else would have gotten me to exercise.

Even after training for months for the marathon, she tweeted a picture of herself covered in icepacks, laying, worn out, on her bed.

The J/P Haitian Relief Organization is not the first non-profit that Anderson supported. She has been linked to Aid Still Required, Cool Earth, Feed the Children, PETA, and many more. The money raised from the New York marathon will go to help Haitian towns and families that are still recovering from the 2010 earthquake.

As for Pamela, one can’t help imagining her running that marathon. Crossing the finish line in a slow motion reel, arms pumping, hair blowing in the wind?just like the old days.
