Chinese Company Makes Ten 3D-Printed Homes In 24 Hours (VIDEO)

A Chinese company based out of Shanghai has succeeded at building 10 homes in 24 hours using enormous 3D printers. The company’s CEO, inventor Ma Yihe, believes his printing methods will revolutionize the way people think about housing and construction.

This technology could make adequate housing affordable for cash-strapped families across the globe. Because the printing materials are made from recycled construction waste and concrete, a house measuring 2,100 square feet can be built for a little over $5,000.

Ma Yihe’s company,?WinSun Decoration Design Engineering, has spent millions of dollars and the last 12 years perfecting its?3D printing technology. WinSun’s?78,000-square-foot headquarters, in fact, was assembled in a month using only four 3D printers.

“Industrial waste from demolished buildings is damaging our environment,” says Ma, “but with 3D printing,?we are able to recycle construction waste and turn it into new building materials.?This would create a much safer environment for construction workers and greatly reduce construction costs.”
