St. Louis County Police Being Pulled From Ferguson By Governor

RT.com is reporting that the governor of Missouri will be relieving the St. Louis County law enforcement from their policing of the ongoing protests in Ferguson, Missouri. This will pave the way for the possibility of state and federal intervention. From RT.com:

Rep Wm. Lacy Clay (D-Missouri) told Bloomberg News on Thursday morning that Gov. Jay Nixon, also a Democrat, had confirmed to him that county police will be pulled from their duties in Ferguson, where outrage continues to erupt following the officer-involved shooting and killing of Michael Brown, an 18-year-old unarmed teenager, on Saturday.

According to Wallbank, no announcement has yet been made by Rep. Clay as to whether or not the FBI or state police would take over in handling the situation, although the FBI has previously announced that it is investigating Michael Brown’s death.

Journalists have been arrested and threatened as the chaos in Ferguson continues. Anonymous has released the name of the alleged police officer who shot Michael Brown.
