Fox’s John Stossel’s Idea Of Emergency Management Is Walmart

Do you ever wonder if the powers-that-be at Fox News simply hire the biggest morons they can find so they’ll say stupid things that get quoted the next day? Well, Fox Business host John Stossel recently put himself in the running for Dolt of the Day while discussing the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as a guest on that font of right wing morning wisdom Fox and Friends.

Stossel was advocating less government and the concept of “spontaneous order,” a completely discredited theory first put forth by economist Friedrich Hayek which says order will emerge from chaos. Guess that would explain why so much “order” has been taking place in Syria over the past couple of years. But Stossel then went out on the window ledge as far as he could get and said:

?After Katrina, Walmart and private charities helped people in many more ways than FEMA did. Because FEMA is incompetent because government tends to be. But also Walmart everyday needs to know what people need, and they were ready. They had more weather forecasters than some of the local governments do.?

Fellow libertarian lugnut Tucker Carlson then chimed in, puckered up, and smooched Stossel’s rump by saying:

?You’re challenging the very idea of Washington, D.C. Good for you.?

But Stossel was far from finished, telling Carlson and the other Fox lackeys:

?Well, we need some government… But not much.?

Yes, John, and you only need some fraction of a brain to work for Fox News but not much.

Take a look at the video for yourself and see what I’m talking about. Just when it seems the IQ level at Fox cannot possibly get any lower, they bring a hack like John Stossel over for a visit and pretty soon all the sane air gets sucked out of the studio.
