Ted Nugent, aka The Walking Human Pustule of Hate Speech, is back with more vitriol and ignorance than one man should be entitled to. Oh, and this time he says the rise in suicides by veterans is all the fault of President Obama.
Nugent, who was speaking at the?Republican Party of Maricopa County, Arizona’s Lincoln Day Dinner, was introduced by fellow fascist, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Nugent got stood up and began his crapfest with this salvo:
?Here’s your job, Republican Party. Twenty to 25 of those guys kill themselves every day, and they haven’t told you why and they haven’t told anybody else why but they told me why: because the commander-in-chief is the enemy.?
It would be so tempting to dismiss Ted Nugent as just another right wing crackpot who cannot control his mouth, but this guy is actually an accepted part of the Republican Party. He regularly plays guitar with Mike Huckabee, hangs out with Sarah Palin, and will wrap his hairy arms around any member of the GOP who says the same kind of poison that constantly flows from his piehole.
Nugent’s hatefest and conspiracy theories about President Obama are long-running: In 2013, he told extremist radio host Alex Jones that veterans were taking their own lives:
“Because they are in absolute frustration and heartbreak that their boss, their commander-in-chief, violates the Constitution that he has made an oath to, while their hero warrior blood brothers are being blown to smithereens and blown up while executing their oath to the same Constitution that the president, the vice president and the attorney general violate.”
Actually, Ted, the real reason the suicide rate is up among veterans is because so many of them were placed into horrific, bloody, and long tours of duty in hellholes like Afghanistan and Iraq. And who put them in harm’s way? Good old George W. Bush and his partner in crime, Dick Cheney. So if you’re gonna rant, Teddy, at least get your facts right.
Ted Nugent is a washed up former rock star who seems destined to try and keep his name in the spotlight so someone will give him the worshipful attention he so desperately seeks.
