What Happens When A Black Guy And White Guy Test Open Carry Laws Separately?

A video experiment recently explored the question of race inequality when it came to “open carry” laws within the United States.

The video suggests that there are very different standards for blacks and whites when it comes to how law enforcement treats people who exercise their rights under this law.

What I found was that this experiment had one huge flaw. The circumstances were quite different between the two men featured in this video. The white guy seemed to be in a different city, therefore dealing with a different officer. It’s unclear if the officer just came upon him while driving by or was called by someone.

What was also apparent was that someone probably called in the Black guy to the police. Perhaps making their approach a bit different than would have normally been the case.

Okay those where my best “devil’s advocate” arguments about this video.

What I find to be pretty clear — and I think most people with common sense would agree — is that blacks are generally treated differently by law enforcement. Most people understand that a black guy carrying a assault riffle and American flag would not be treated the same as his white counterpart.

I’m sure many conservatives will have a lot to say about this seemingly obvious fact. I wait with baited breath to hear their rationalizations and denials.

Here is the video.
