As a teenager, I went to an evangelical church — an Assembly of God church, to be precise. Like most churches, there were some really good people there with a few nuts mixed in. I didn’t really see a lot of craziness, but I did witness my share of “speaking in tongues,” kids crying, etc…I’ve also been to numerous revivals at which the preachers did their best to terrify everyone to the point of tears and trembling.
You know what? It’s wrong. In spite of it all, I’m still a Christ believer. He was a genuinely amazing dude. If a person endeavors to?follow his teachings, he/she will live a good life of love and charity. However, as we liberals know, too few Christians actually follow his teachings.
What is being done to the children in this video footage is abuse. There’s just no other word for it. Fact: if this is GOD and this is JESUS, no one would or should want a part of it. I know I don’t.
This infuriates me.
