In the wake of the record-setting blockbuster, Jurassic World, online polling company YouGov.com?asked pollers between June 15 and 17, 2015, whether they think humans and dinosaurs lived together in the past. YouGov reports that over 40% of their pollers?believe that dinosaurs and humans walked the Earth?at the same time. Only 25% of Americans polled were certain that dinosaurs and humans didn’t share the planet.?The question asked:
“Do you believe that dinosaurs and humans once lived on the?planet at the same time?”
14% of respondents said definitely, 27% said?probably, 18% said probably not, and 25% said definitely not; 16% were?unsure.
The poll reflected that blacks, hispanics, Republicans and those from the South were most?likely to believe that?humans and dinosaurs co-existed.
It is?uncertain whether the pollers were counting birds, the descendents of dinosaurs, in their?response as?birds?are living dinosaurs.?Regardless, the question appeared to?allude to the?past and not the present day.
