Dick Cheney Should Face Prosecution As War Criminal Judge Says

Dick Cheney is being called out for war crimes by the leading expert in international human rights law. Thomas Buergenthal (81) survived the Auschwitz concentration camp as a boy and was a judge at the International Court of Justice from 2000 to 2010. So he should know.

Cheney War Criminal

Buergenthal believes that Cheney will stand trial for war crimes – eventually. He said,

?Some of us have long thought that Cheney and a number of CIA agents who did what they did in those so-called black holes should appear before the ICC.?

Buergenthal On Bush

The former justice does not have an opinion about British Prime Minister Tony Blair’s guilt regarding his part in the Iraq War. But when Buergenthal does have an opinion, he?has no qualms about speaking,

?(Bush was) an ignorant person who wanted to show his mother he could do things his father couldn’t.?

Ouch.

Buergenthal On Obama

Buergenthal was born in Czechoslovakia before it divided itself in half. Later he became a U.S. citizen and now teaches law at George Washington University. He had harsh words for President Obama,

?We (Americans) could have tried them ourselves. I voted for Obama, but I think he made a great mistake when he decided not to instigate legal proceedings against some of these people. I think ? yes ? that it will happen.?

Buergenthal On Nixon

Surprisingly, Buergenthal had a different opinion about former president Richard Nixon.

?(Nixon was) more intelligent (than Cheney and Bush). I don’t think Nixon would have got involved in Iraq.?

Somehow, I think Buergenthal will get his wish about Cheney.
