Mother Names Newborn Infant After Louisiana Deputy Who Assisted With Birth

We are often accused of hating police officers here at Liberal America. We don’t. We love our good ones and respect our good ones. What we hate is the corruption and abuse of power. With that said, here’s some news that is positive about one Jefferson Parish Louisiana deputy.

When Patrol Deputy Emily Brinser responded to a 911 call in Terrytown, Louisiana, she found a 33-year-old woman already beginning to deliver her baby.

Realizing this, she stepped up and helped the woman deliver a 7 lbs, 6 oz. baby girl that would be named after Deputy Brinser. Baby (named Emily Victoria) and mother are doing well.

I’m not familiar with what type of law enforcement training in first aid/medic training police officers receive. Whether or not they are trained specifically for situations like this, this is a wonderful reminder of the GOOD that police officers provide our communities!
