Appearing at a rally against Planned Parenthood in Nashville, Tennessee, on Thursday afternoon, Joe Davis, the husband of Kentucky clerk Kim Davis made brief remarks which seemed to excite the gathered crowd.

Wearing his trademark overalls, Davis said:

“Well, I’m not a speaker. I really truly appreciate and love each and every one that’s here today to show the support for God first, and for me and my wife. I love each and every one of you. I love everybody. Y’all just keep praying for me and my wife, that God will give us the strength to fight this battle until its’ over with. God bless you all.”

And then things got downright batshit bizarre.

Kentucky pastor Randy Smith took the stage after Davis had spoken and started in with a rant that began:

“Kim Davis was lawlessly put into jail for standing upon the convictions that God had given her. It came upon my heart to go down [to Rowan County] as I knew that homosexual couples would come and they would want their marriage license, and I stood there by the door with the Christian flag draped beside me, and this is what I read as the door of the county clerk began to open, and a lesbian couple was there and there was the press around them. And this is what I read: For this cause, God gave them up on the vile affections for even the women did change the natural use of that which is against nature and likewise also the men leaving the natural use of a woman burned in their lust one toward another, men with men, working that which is unseemly.”

Pastor Smith was far from done regaling the crowd with his supernatural declarations, adding:

“It doesn’t matter what the Supreme Court of the United States says! It does not matter what the federal judge, David Bunning, said. When you stand before God and I stand before God, we’re not going to be before the Supreme Court of the United States of America, but we’re going to be before the Supreme God because there is no other God except the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob! Pray for us in Kentucky. The fight has just begun and we will win!”

No, the fight is over with, and you lost, Brother Smith. The Supreme Court has the final say on all Constitutional matters, and they have spoken. So you can grab your Bible, your Christian flag, and your narrow-minded view of the world and head on back home.
