Amazing Results From 30-Day Sugar- And Alcohol-Free Diet (VIDEO)

Sugar and alcohol – two of life’s greatest pleasures. Who doesn’t love to relax with a bowl of ice cream at the end of the day, and perhaps a glass of wine. While many acknowledge the pleasure of consuming both of these substances, fewer acknowledge their addictive nature. However, more and more people have been exploring the effects of a sugar free diet, leading them to surprising discoveries.

With the goal of exploring just how addictive, and potentially harmful, sugar and alcohol are, a brave soul did the unthinkable: cut out sugar and alcohol for an entire month.

Sacha Harland of LifeHunters.tv sought to explore the physical and emotional differences that a month without sugar would entail. He enlisted sports physicians to measure several key health indicators, including cholesterol, blood sugar, body weight, and blood pressure.

As you might expect, giving up sugar and alcohol for even just a month was difficult for Sacha. His challenge is wonderfully documented in the video below:

Giving up alcohol was difficult, but not nearly as difficult as giving up sugar. As Sacha realizes, sugar is hidden in a huge variety of foods, even in areas where you’d least expect it. Foods like condiments, salad dressings and many drinks contained sugar, sometimes in staggering amounts.

What made this experiment especially grueling for Sacha were the initial pangs of hunger and huge cravings. Like any addiction, he experienced severe withdrawal symptoms, including emotional lows. However, the hurdles were worth overcoming. Sacha explains that his cravings disappeared eventually. His physical health improved drastically. In just one month, he lost 8 pounds, decreased his blood pressure by 10 points, decreased his cholesterol by 8%, and lowered his blood sugar levels. Pretty impressive for just giving up two foods for 30 days.

Will Sacha ever consume sugar or alcohol over again? Yes, but in the way that they were meant to be consumed: as occasional treats.

This documentary adds to the mounting evidence that the high quantities of sugar and alcohol commonly consumed in society are harmful to our health. This is yet another reason to take a hard look at your diet and decide to cut some things out for the better.
