Republicans are known to be huge hypocrites, but this latest scandal is still hilarious. Anti-gay GOP Senator from Puerto Rico, Roberto Arango, has what appear to be naked photos of himself on the gay app, Grindr.
When I say photos, I mean scandalous photos. That’s right, a photo of his naked backside appeared on the app, allegedly. In response, Arango said:
“You know I’ve been losing weight. As I shed that weight, I’ve been taking pictures. I don’t remember taking this particular picture but I’m not gonna say I didn’t take it. I’d tell you if I remembered taking the picture, but I don’t.”
Whether you believe him or not, the Washington Post is reporting that the face in the photo seems to match Arango’s. The man is also seen wearing a signature necklace belonging to the Senator.
In true hypocritical fashion, Arango has opposed marriage equality and adoption rights for LGBTQ people in Puerto Rico.
Why do so many of these scandals keep coming up from the GOP? No matter the state or territory, it seems like they have a lot of people who are just struggling with self-identity. Whatever their reasoning, the cognitive dissonance displayed by those who live or engage in gay-ish lifestyles (I don’t like to label others), yet push anti-gay policies, is truly remarkable-and sad.
