If you thought Fox News had a monopoly on so-called law enforcement “experts” who inevitably love to say that nothing is the fault of the police and the blame always lies with the person being harassed, beaten, or killed for no reason, then allow me to introduce you to Harry Houck.

Houck, who appeared on CNN earlier this morning as an analyst, was discussing the recent incident in South Carolina where a security officer brutally tossed a high school student to the floor and assaulted her. The video has gone viral and has once again set off a debate about whether or not police and security officials in the United States are out of control.

Not according to Houck, who is a former New York City detective. Houck admitted that what the video shows looked really bad,” but since the student assaulted by Officer Ben Fields wasn’t badly harmed, all was right with the world.

When Houck was asked by CNN host Chris Cuomo if Fields didn’t overreact, he replied:

“It’s as a result of a failure to comply. If that girl got out of the car — got out of the seat when she was told, there would be no problem. But apparently she had no respect for the school, no respect for her teacher, probably has no respect at home or on the street, and that’s why she acted the way she did.”

Based on initial reports, Officer Fields was called to the classroom by school authorities because the teen was seen using her cellphone by a teacher.

One thing I can assure you of: Had this gung-ho piece of human excrement who pretends to be a cop tossed my daughter out of her desk and assaulted her, I would demand his immediate removal from his job, and then I would sue both him and the school system for millions of dollars. I would not rest until Officer Fields had been financially destroyed and never allowed to carry a badge again.

How’s that for respect, Mr. Houck?
