Next Time Your GOP Friends Or Relatives Say Obama Isn’t Fighting ISIS, Show Them This

From what we’ve heard out of the GOP and their Fox News puppets this week, you’d think President Obama and the United States are sitting back and letting all the other nations take the fight to the terrorist group ISIS. One minute they’re wrapping their arms around Russian President Vladimir Putin and then next they’re praising French President Francois Hollande.

Keep in mind these are the same hypocritical, war-hungry jackals who several years ago changed the name of French fries to Freedom fries simply because the French didn’t want our warplanes passing through their airspace on the way to go bomb whatever the enemy du jour was at the time.

Here’s what Marco Rubio had to say earlier this week. Surprisingly, when he said it, he was able to keep a straight face:

“While he (the President) dithers, ISIL is diligently forcing its way across the borders of the Middle East—expanding beyond Syria and Iraq, now into Libya, Egypt, Afghanistan and even nuclear-capable Pakistan. It is threatening to advance into Saudi Arabia and Jordan, and in recent weeks has launched attacks into the Sinai, Beirut and, as we saw on Friday, into the heart of Europe.”

Dithers? Hmm. That’s an interesting choice of a word to describe what is known as Operation Inherent Resolve by the U.S military. And it should be noted that the United States has been bombing ISIS non-stop since August 2014.

And here are the cold hard facts that no doubt the know-nothings on the right will attempt to dispute or dismiss:

Since the launch of Inherent Resolve, the coalition led by American fighter pilots has made 8,125 air strikes against ISIS targets – 5,321 in Iraq and 2,804 in Syria. While the bulk of the bombing has been done by America, partners that have contributed forces include Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Jordan, The Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the UK, and the United Arab Emirates.

And here is a breakdown of the targets that have been hit during this bombardment:

So clearly, the argument that the President and the coalition are not doing anything to defeat ISIS is just plain bullshit. And we should fully expect to hear more of it in the weeks and months ahead, especially from the Republicans who are running for President. But the facts say otherwise. Of course, facts have never mattered to Republicans before, so why would they start now?
