Donald Trump Has An Admirer He Doesn’t Want

In 2015, we wrote about how white supremacist David Duke doesn’t trust Donald Trump but endorses him anyhow. Today the situation has drastically changed .

KKK member, Holocaust Denier and former Republican Louisiana State Representative David Duke has been drumming up Donald Trump’s candidature for some time now. Both on his podcast and website, Duke has come forward to support Trump’s claim to the Republican ticket in unequivocal terms, stating recently on his own mouthpiece -“David Duke Radio Program”- that:

“voting against Donald Trump at this point, is really treason to your heritage.”

By “heritage,” of course he means the spawns of the secret master-race he’s been dreaming about for decades.

Aware of how damaging Duke’s endorsement is to the campaign, Trump has repudiated it saying:

“I don’t need his endorsement, I certainly wouldn’t want his endorsement, I don’t need anybody’s endorsement.”

However, the negative publicity garnered by this soundbite will undoubtedly paint Trump as guilty by association and affect the results of Super Tuesday.

Unfortunately for Trump, his repudiation isn’t going to stop his Neo-Nazi fanboy. Later on Facebook, Duke compared himself with Trump, arguing that:

“Donald Trump has the same positions I had in 1992 in the primaries where even though I was illegally kept out of debates I scored lot more support than Paul, Carson and others in primaries I was not illegally kept out of.”

Not only is Duke a solid supporter of the white supremacy, he is also an anti-Semite and, amidst news of Bernie Sander’s Jewish heritage pouring out, Duke is ready with a a volley of cheap potshots to fire at that target as well.

Whether Duke is trying to polish his own, insignificant political career by piggybacking the election frenzy or whether he genuinely believes Trump can help him live the days of fantastic glory he dreams about; what’s certain is that his advocacy is hurting Trump more than it is helping him and the whole episode is reminiscent of a Japanese phrase which translated means “wringing a dry towel for water.”
