Happy Super Tuesday! Here’s What’s Happened Leading Up To Today’s Primaries

Happy Super Tuesday everyone! Today, 11 states are having their presidential primaries: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, and Virginia. “Super Tuesday” is an unofficial nickname for this date because all of these states have their primary voting today. I just got back from voting myself. They’re saying this could be the highest voter turnout since the 2000 election.

This is an important day in the presidential campaign. This is the first day of multi-state primary voting. Coming into the election today, polls are saying that Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are leading in their respective parties. Hillary won at the South Carolina primary on Saturday. Trump and Rubio both had rallies in Huntsville, AL area.

Trump is facing more controversy this week after the KKK grand dragon, David Duke, endorsed him. Trump said he doesn’t know anything about the leader or his group. But, here are some photos and newspaper articles showing Donald Trump’s father, Fred Trump, being arrested at a KKK rally in the 30s. So, obviously he knows something about them.

Today is a very important date in the campaign. Republicans have a chance to win about half of the 1,237 delegates needed for the nomination. Democrats will be trying to get 800 delegates, which is a third of the delegates. Most of the states primaries will be finished by the end of March.

If you live in one of the states voting today, we hope to see you out at the polls!
