BOOM! Obama Schools The GOP On Trump!

The GOP has blamed Obama for the rise of Trump and the turmoil in the Republican Party.

This morning, President Obama was at a press conference with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The President urged the Republicans to do a little “soul searching.” That they have developed a notion that everything he does has to be opposed. They think of compromise like a betrayal. Obama said this doesn’t need to be the case and that collaboration across the aisle could improve our government.

He speaks of the polarization of the country that has happened under his Presidency. he also said that people were threatening to move to Canada if he got re-elected. Well, now there are people saying they will go to Canada if Trump wins. Obama assured the Prime Minister that his country was safe from a swarm of disillusioned Americans.

The biggest example of Republicans opposing Obama right now is the situation in Congress with Obama’s Supreme Court nominee. The Republicans are denying the President his Constitutional Right to appoint the next Justice to the Supreme Court. The argument started within hours of the news of Justice Scalia’s death. Now the Senate is refusing to have confirmation hearings for Obama’s picks. Article III of the Constitution says that the President is to pick new judges and confirm them with the Senate.

Obama said the Republicans need to reflect on the circus they have created. Obama said he ultimately wants an “effective Republican Party.”

Trudeau is not quite as nice, has gained the nickname “The Anti-Trump.” He, along with other world leaders, is criticizing Trumps “hateful and divisive rhetoric.” After the Super Tuesday results, the phrase “how to move to Canada” saw a spike in online searches. Trudeau has come out against Trump’s insulting of the media, and his wanting to build a wall in Mexico.
