An official from Dubai warned that we could have a “clash of civilizations” if Trump is elected President. He said this in wake of candidate’s statement that “Islam Hates The West.” Of course, The Donald thinks that backing down on this insulting statement would be bowing to the forces of political correctness.
The Lt. Gen. Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, wrote:
“If Trump beats Hillary [Clinton], that means that the scenario of the clash of civilizations created by Samuel will come to light at the hands of the candidate and al-Baghdadi.”
Tamim was referencing a theory from a political scientist, Samuel P Huntington, saying that the next war would be fought over cultures. Huntington served as a political advisor to several presidents, and he founded the journal Foreign Policy in 1970.
Trump has tried to do business with the Middle East, especially Dubai. He lent his name to some golf courses that were built over there. He wants to expand his hotel chain there. The Dubai-based company, the Landmark Group, said it will pull all of Trump’s home decor collection from the stores.
In December, a billboard with The Donald’s name and picture was pulled from a golf course development in Dubai.
Trump also said we should “look carefully” at mosques. Rubio said that we are “at war with radical Islam.” That term, “radical Islam,” is somewhat divisive itself. The mainstreaming of these hateful terms is somewhat frightening.
Yesterday, Trump doubled down on the same comment saying there is “tremendous hate” toward Americans from Muslims. He even asked one Muslim military member to show his military ID after Trump said Muslims should have to wear special ID badges and even put in a database.
