These GOP candidates are just full of surprises! Trump AND Kasich said that they would skip the debate that was supposed to be airing on Monday from Salt Lake City, so, Fox News has just decided to cancel the debate all together. The news broke first on Utah Fox News Affiliate KSTU-TV earlier this afternoon. The scheduled moderators were Brett Baier, Megyn Kelly, and Chris Wallace.
We’re guessing Trump didn’t want to deal with Kelly again, and indeed, his statement was:
How many times can you answer the same questions?
Or perhaps he’s not ready to deal with John Kasich?
Kasich’s campaign strategist said that he had hoped the Governor’s “inclusive approach” would contrast with Trumps “campaign of division.”
Trump was on Fox and Friends this morning when he said he would be skipping the debate. He cited an important speech that he was going to give to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. After Trump cancelled, Ohio governor John Kasich said that if Trump wasn’t going, he wasn’t going.
Here is the statement that Utah’s GOP Chairman James Evans gave:
“We thank those who have expressed interest in attending the debate and are saddened by the news however, we are extremely pleased that Utah was chosen as a debate location. Utah can no longer be considered a flyover state as recent events have proven. We will move forward and look ahead to Caucus on March 22, 2016.”
Trump said:
“We’ve had enough debates.”
So, I guess he’s controlling the GOP now?
Desperate Ted Cruz fired back at Trump, calling him “Ducking Donald.” There is even a “Ducking Donald” website at TedCruz.org with a petition to get Trump to debate with Cruz.

Trump claims to not have known about the planned event. But here he is reacting to the announcement of the debate on Monday. Just in case you didn’t realize, Trump is a proven pathological liar.
The upside? We’ll get through this week without genitalia comments from the candidates.
