The New Best Thing: Yoga That Encourages Dropping The F-Bomb

Traditional yoga classes require concentration and quiet to reach zen levels. SheKnows.com discovered Rage Yoga in Calgary. The Canadian-based yoga class has different rules. Feel free to stop by for a drop-in class for only $12. You can also drop the F-Bomb while learning yoga positions without fear of being asked to leave.

Rage Yoga Teacher Adds New Techniques

Rage Yoga owner Lindsay Istace says when she found her practice she was totally stressed out.

“My mind was constantly running a mile a minute and I couldn’t slow down. I had zero confidence, rage issues and, on top of it all, the muscle mass of a kitchen sponge.”

Developing Mind-Body Flow

Istace’s classes are rooted in Vinyasa flow. The practice calls for a mind-body connection which Istace says, is better for obtaining yoga goals. She’s learned how to slow her mind down, and feel good inside.

Go Ahead, Drop An F-Bomb!

As a general rule, yoga practitioners learn to control breathing and use different poses and techniques to strengthen core muscles and increase flexibility.  Can it help to just let loose with an F-Bomb while bending and stretching? Istace probably thinks so as her business continues to grow.

Get Your Mood Right!

On-demand yoga classes will start next month for people outside of Calgary. Participants are encouraged to use cuss words as needed while learning and maintaining poses. Istace says doing so is an “instant mood booster” that makes you feel better. She says,

“It changed my life and I want to share that gift with you.”

Classes In A Pub With Free Beer!

Rage Yoga classes take place inside a basement pub. Students are separated from the rest of the bar by curtained partitions. It isn’t a snazzy state-of-the-art operation. It’s functional. Also, students receive tickets for free beer following yoga classes.

That may be way out of the norm for many.  Istace is okay with what may be far from the norm for many yoga enthusiasts. Getting her yoga on and dropping solid and heartfelt cuss words is working. Who says yoga has to be quiet and unassuming? Rage Yoga may be what you’re missing!
