Donald Trump now says the media is to blame for focusing on the beatings of protesters at his campaign rallies when the issue is really that the protesters keep his supporters from hearing what he has to say.

Trump made an appearance on the ABC Sunday news show “This Week” and was directly asked by host George Stephanopoulos:

“What more will you be doing to stop your supporters from acting out like this?”

As per his usual, Trump didn’t actually answer the question, but did manage to try and offer a defense by blaming the victims:

“These people are very disruptive people, George.  These are not innocent lambs.”

Stephanopoulos also queried Trump about the beating of a man at a rally in Tucson. To which Trump claimed the man was wearing a Ku Klux Klan outfit:

‘Well, you know, he was wearing — he or his partner was wearing a Ku Klux Klan outfit. This happened to be an African-American man who was very — a person at the rally, who was very, very incensed at the fact that somebody, a protester, would be wearing a Ku Klux Klan outfit.’

Notice he still has not condemned violence in all forms, no matter where it comes from. He knows if he does that, his supporters will be incensed and might turn their wrath on him.

So the ABC host decided to confront Trump directly by noting:

“You appear to be much more upset by the protesters than by the violent response to those protesters.”

Trump’s response:

‘I am very, uh, I wouldn’t use the word upset. I think it’s very unfair that these really, in many cases, professional, in many cases, sick, protesters can put cars in a road blocking thousands of — of great Americans from coming to a speech and nobody says anything about that. It is a very unfair — it’s a very — let me just tell you, it’s a very unfair double standard.’

Poor Donald and his attack thugs! He–and they–are always the aggrieved party, no matter what happens. Trump does not have the ability to apologize because he thinks doing so is a sign of weakness and indecision. This is one of Trump’s many failings that will doom him should he happen to win the GOP nomination.
