Methamphetamine: Another Reason To Just Say No

Just in case you needed an extra reason to avoid taking that methamphetamine, we have a story that may convince you to abstain.

A man in Isabella County, Michigan was arrested on Saturday while high on the drug. He was also naked. At the time of his arrest, the 32-year-old man was doing his best to get people in Deerfield Township to stop their cars and let him have a ride. Unsurprisingly, no one accepted his requests.

According to the Morning Sun Newspaper, officers were called shortly after midday about a man, a naked man, who was wandering through the lanes of traffic, and who may have been hit by one or more cars. The original caller was a man who was traveling with two young children as well as his wife. The man did not stop for the naked methamphetamine user, but pulled his car into a safe spot to call 911. In his report to police, the man added that he may have run over the suspect’s foot as he attempted to drive away.

The naked man then approached a second car, injured foot or no injured foot, and attempted to gain entry by banging on the driver’s window and grabbing at his genitals. The effort failed, surprising no one except for possibly the man with his junk in his hands.

The paper reports that when officers arrived at the scene, they ordered the naked man to the ground, but he walked away. For reasons which were not stated in the original piece, he then turned around and came back toward the first officer, who threatened him with a Taser if he did not comply. The man replied with something along the lines of “Ah, go ahead.” According to Isabella County Sheriff Michael Main, the officer then attempted to use the Taser, but the effort fizzled and the naked man remained defiantly on his feet.

Luckily, a second officer was present, and when the naked hitchhiker attempted to approach, his Taser did the trick. The agitated suspect fell to the ground. The officers managed to get handcuffs on the man, who was still resisting, and to wrangle him into the back of the patrol car. At this point he began to bang his head against the unbreakable glass of the car’s windows. He was further restrained at that point, for his own safety.

The suspect has been taken to McClaren Central Michigan Hospital for an evaluation and possible treatment.

While none of the officers involved in this bizarre incident was injured, one did report some type of damage to his uniform. One can only guess what that might mean.
