Life Handed This Kid Lemons — So She Used Them

It’s not all the time that we get to hear absolutely inspiring stories. There was a time when this seemed to be the norm, but with the current political climate where jibes and counter-jibes are thrown by political heavyweights, it’s quite easy to get lost in translation. However, that isn’t the case for 9-year old Mikaila Ulmer who has outwitted food giants and conglomerates Coca-cola, Kraft, Pepsi, and Procter & Gamble, to get shelf space with Whole Foods.

Yeah, you read that right — she got shelf space and a contract worth a million dollars to supply her product, BeeSweet Lemonade.

Surprised?

I sure was when I got wind of this story and I was absolutely convinced that no adult has any excuse not to be creative and then work with his/her hands if a kid could pull this off.

Her story initially ran on KidsCount Inc., and she was an inspiration to those kids who saw what a peer was able to achieve with what she had – lemons.

When the precocious young lady was asked how she beat out all those big conglomerates mentioned earlier, her response was even more epic:

“I don’t know? Do they make theirs with love?”

Talk about the simplicity and truthfulness with which kids answer all of life’s questions.

The Austin, Texas based business says of their product:

“Our lemonade is fresh-squeezed with added Texas wildflower honey, flaxseed and mint”

Mikaila’s story is worth sharing everywhere not just because she’s a kid, but because she’s using what she has to make her own American dream. So, all you need to take a bite of the pie may be around you.
