Slick Willy Clinton is back in the hot seat, and this time there are pictures.
After gladhanding voters inside and within 150 feet of Boston polling places earlier this month, he’s being sued by a group called “MA Sanders Voters and Volunteers Disenfranchised by Bill Clinton.” The group charges that his actions were illegal, especially in areas believed to favor his wife’s opponent Bernie Sanders, creating delays and keeping voters from casting ballots, according to The Horn News.
Electioneering is illegal within 150 feet of a polling place in Massachusetts, and laws against electioneering exist in all 50 states. Any politician – a former president of the United States, no less – should have been well aware of them.
The lawsuit was filed Wednesday in Boston Federal District Court. It asks the judge to invalidate the state primary results and hand all 116 delegates to Sanders. If the group is successful, the decision could irreparably alter the Democratic race in Sanders’s favor.
“With 10,000 undecided voters and a margin of victory of only 16,800 votes, it is eminently plausible that Bill Clinton impacted the final result,” the lawsuit claims.
Hillary Clinton won the primary by 1%.
There’s more than enough visual evidence to support their complaint, the group stated in the lawsuit.
“Photographic evidence of Clinton inside polling stations during voting hours appeared in local newspapers and on the Internet in real time…Once inside polling stations, with no other business there, photographic and video evidence show Bill Clinton smiling, shaking hands, greeting people, having photographs taken with people, and otherwise generating goodwill for the candidacy of his wife Hillary Clinton…At one point during the day, video shows Clinton apologizing to an audience that he was so hoarse from campaigning that he had lost his voice.”
The group has entered into evidence photos of Clinton at various polling places and a video showing him inside one in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
