This Man May Be The Most Hated Person In All Of Politics

Politics is a fickle creature. Ted Cruz is trailing behind in popularity not only among GOP delegates, but also among other top Republican politicians. He is unlikable even among his peers, and his latest quarrels with other top officials of the party aren’t helping much.

Former House speaker John Boehner is the arch nemesis of Ted Cruz and even dubbed him as “Lucifer in the flesh.” Cruz then undermined his relationship with another GOP presidential contender, John Kasich. The two had agreed to be allies against Donald Trump, but the partnership deteriorated long before it gained any tactical advantage.

Ted Cruz is undoubtedly brilliant as far as his academic achievements go. He even showed intellect as a lawyer, but not so much when it comes to people. Bickering with the leaders of his own party seems to come naturally with Cruz, and many Republicans find it hard to like the man.

The likability factor is the main thing lacking in Ted’s campaign. He might be very intelligent, but he does not have the necessary charisma to rally popular support amongst his peers and the GOP delegates.

According to a seasoned Republican campaign strategist, Anna Navarro, Sen. Cruz is comparable to the dish liver and onions. Some people love it, but some may feel nauseous and gag by simply thinking about it.

Cruz is unlikely to muster sufficient support from the now fractured Republican Party. When he goes to the Indiana primary next Tuesday he may not get solid support from the top brass. Most of the Republican Senators and Congressmen from Indiana have not pledged support for Cruz, but Gov. Mike Pence surprisingly endorsed him.

Many Democrats and Republicans alike are angry at Cruz for his relentless efforts in the U.S. Senate to shred the universal health-care law. This led to the government shutdown in 2013.

The list of Cruz’s political sins against his party mates is long. His refusal to endorse his GOP colleagues against insurgent primary challengers in 2014 wasn’t popular. Refusing to make any apology regarding his statements against Senate Majority Leader McConnell, for calling him a liar on the Senate floor, didn’t help either.

Many Republicans think Cruz is creepy, too arrogant, and abrasive. Some of his most staunch critics are top Republican officials.

Some Republicans would rather nominate random people rather than support Ted Cruz.  For instance, his former roommate at Princeton University, Craig Mazin, said this about Cruz:

“I would rather have anybody else be the president of the United States. Anyone. I would rather pick somebody from the phone book.”

Meanwhile, former House speaker John Boehner has these kind words about Cruz:

“I have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a b*tch in my life.”

While the Senator is unlikely to get the party nomination, he is desperate to stop Trump from getting the 1,237 delegates necessary to be the official GOP nominee. His tactics are causing a greater rift in the party.

It has gotten so bad that even Rush Limbaugh is trying to defend Cruz. Listen as he tries to explain why Republicans hate him.
