A Muslim woman wearing a hijab outside a coffee shop in Chevy Chase, Maryland, says she was violently attacked by a woman who called her stupid and said she was a supporter of Donald Trump.
The woman, who declined give her name, is African-American and wears the hijab head covering that devout Muslim women wear. She told WJLA that she was sitting outside a Starbucks on April 21 when the attack took place. Police have now released surveillance footage which shows the woman yelling in the victim’s face, then returning with a bottle of liquid and dousing her. Take a look:
The woman who was attacked also told reporters:
“A Caucasian lady with blond hair walked right past me. Then as soon as she sat down she started talking about me. Saying ‘F-ing Muslim. Trash, worthless piece of Muslim trash. You all need to go back to where you came from.”
The attacker also allegedly told the Muslim woman:
“You’re a terrorist. So stupid.”
How does the woman know that her attacker was a Trump supporter? Simple:
“She says if Donald Trump wins the nomination I’m going to vote for him so he can send all of you all back to where you came from.”
Following the attack, the woman called 911, but the officer who responded told her there was nothing he could do about “words.” Police are now saying they consider the attack a hate crime.
As for the woman who was attacked, she recalls that the liquid poured on her had a strange odor to it:
“She came around and took out a water bottle and poured the contents over my head and all over me. It didn’t burn my skin or anything, but it had a strange smell to it.”
Should Trump become President, we can expect more attacks of this type, and you an also bet that Trump will not condemn those who commit them.
