Glenn Beck Rants About Cruz As The God-Chosen President, Says America Deserves Punishment

Republican media personalities and commentators seem to also function as amateur pastors like Glenn Beck. Teary-eyed, he delivered a poignant ‘sermon’ to his congregation of TV audience – well, some may find his sermon either ridiculous or hilarious.

Beck ranted about how the U.S. deserves a punishment from God for not supporting the divinely chosen president, Ted Cruz. He was addressing the Republican delegates who supported Trump in the latter’s bid for GOP presidential nomination.

Beck’s televised whining came after Ted Cruz officially announced the suspension of his campaign, which was a euphemism for withdrawing from the presidential nomination bid.

It seems that Glenn Beck did not realize the logical flaw in his claims. Cruz has also previously claimed that God called him to run for the presidency.

This fondness for claiming divine rights and leaning towards theocracy is very common among ultra-conservative Republicans. The fallacious reasoning of claiming God’s appointment was hilariously pointed out by Craig Mazin, a former college roommate of Cruz.

Mazin tweeted:

Being a good Christian, Beck has a totally different view. He warned in his program that rejecting Cruz will lead to the suffering of the nation.

Perhaps Beck felt like a frustrated prophet of God when he said that America is like a petulant child that God tried to warn and discipline but the child never heeded God’s warnings. Hence, punishment is inevitable.

“Tuesday changed the course of the world when we lose [freedom] here, everyone will be called to account by God “because we were born at this time, in this country because every one of us are warriors, but too many people gave up the fight before the battle was won.”

Beck then declared that voting for Trump has eternal consequences. At least he is sufficiently rational to know that Trump is the worst choice. He seems to agree with Bill Maher who jokingly said that “Better Ted than Dead.”
