Before Obama was presented on stage, Fallon introduced him by cracking jokes, saying the reason that Obama was on the show was that even the POTUS couldn’t score tickets to the popular Broadway show “Hamilton”.

Fallon went on to compliment Obama for starting out as one of the five youngest presidents to take the highest political office in the U.S., but joked about the way he has appeared to be aging during his presidency by saying:

“And this is weird, he’ll be one of the oldest presidents upon leaving office.”

Obama was then introduced on stage, and together with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots, the trio proceeded to celebrate Obama’s two terms in office. The three of them kicked off a summary of sorts, covering Obama’s impressive accomplishments during his eight years as President of the United States. Obama started out early by saying:

“…we’ve added more than 14-million jobs, and lowered the unemployment rate to under 5-percent.”

Jimmy Fallon then slow jammed back:

“Oh yeah, President Obama stimulated long-term growth, in both the public and the private sector.

To that, the band’s singer would jump in to answer:

“He created tons of jobs for you and me, and he’s got one more left for Hillary.”

Loud cheers followed from the audience as Obama continued to list his legacy:

“The United States has been a leader in developing clean energy, to ensure the health of our planet for future generations. Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, an additional 20-million Americans now have access to quality healthcare, and same sex couples across the country now has a constitutional right to marry. In short, climate change is real, health care is affordable, and love is love.”

Obama then took aim at the orange fellow in the presidential race by saying:

“I know some of the presidential candidates have been critical of my foreign policy. I don’t want to name any names…”

The band quickly responded with:

“He’s talking about Donald Trump.”

The whole segment has been a viral hit on social media, and uploaded numerous times on YouTube with millions of views.

Even the White House tweeted about President Obama and Jimmy Fallon’s slow jam, but the show had more to offer. With Obama nearing the end of his final term, Fallon suggested he’d probably have much to be thankful for, and offered him to write Thank You notes. Obama started with:

“Thank you my 2008 slogan, ’Yes We Can’, or as I now like to call you, ’Yes We Did.”

Together, they wrote several hilarities, and one good natured Hillary joke spread like a fire over the internet:

“Thank you, Hillary Clinton, for possibly becoming the first Fff… president. I would have said female but someone deleted the email.”

The segment ended with a sincere thanks to the 44th president of the United States, Barack Obama.
